How can I make my relationship work?

You're in it for the long haul, but both you and your mate are struggling. You're not alone. As we all know (or should know at least!), relationships are delicate things that require work. When we're single we get so caught up in finding someone that we fall into the happily ever after trap, assuming once we're partnered up, we'll be good to go. But after you've been in a relationship for a while, the truth becomes clear... finding someone may have just been the easy part!

For me:

Communication is paramount in learning to make a relationship work. Try having one night of the week where you take time out of your busy schedules to have communication time. During this time you can talk about what concerns you are having within the relationship and brainstorm what you plan to do about it. A relationship is a two way street and by learning to communicate and plan accordingly, it can make the inevitable rough patches just a little bit easier to handle.
